Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you create an account or use Match Hire, we collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, resume/CV, employment history, skills, job preferences, and any other information you choose to include in your profile.

Information from OAuth providers

If you sign in via Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from that provider. We do not store your OAuth provider passwords.

Usage data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service: pages visited, features used, job applications sent, swipe actions, and device/browser information.

How We Use Your Information

Matching and applications

Your profile and resume are used to find relevant job matches, calculate match scores, and generate personalized cover letters and application materials on your behalf.

Service improvement

We use aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve our matching algorithms, surface better job recommendations, and develop new features.

Communications

We may send you transactional emails (application updates, interview invitations) and product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

How We Share Your Information

With employers

When you apply to a job through Match Hire, your resume and cover letter are shared with that employer. You control which jobs you apply to — we never share your profile without your action.

Service providers

We share data with trusted third-party providers (cloud hosting, AI processing, analytics) who are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.

We never sell your data

Match Hire does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Ever.

Data Retention

Active accounts

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Your profile, resume, and application history are stored so the service remains useful across sessions.

Account deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Your Rights

Access and portability

You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, in a machine-readable format.

Correction and deletion

You can update your information at any time in your profile settings, or request deletion of your account and associated data.

GDPR & CCPA

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you have additional rights including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Security

How we protect your data

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest), access controls, and regular security audits. However, no system is completely secure — we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your OAuth provider.
